Are Sleep Thieves Hidden Under Your Pillow - Take The Quiz And Find Out

The message is clear bad sleep habits rob you of pep and vigor but whats the skinny on why people cant sleep and what can you do about it? For answers take the quiz and find out.

(PRWEB) April 1, 2005 -- The message is clear bad sleep habits rob you of pep and vigor but whats the skinny on why people cant sleep and what can you do about it? For answers take the quiz and find out.

What robs you of more sleep than a noisy airport?

Shes thoughts of tomorrow says Garth Gibson, a mental fitness expert and former naval officer he writes about right and wrong ways of self-improvement at www.garthgibson.com.

Thoughts of I must sleep, I have to get up early tomorrow are one of many sleep thieves hidden under your pillow"

Gibson who was first robbed of sleep by manic drill leaders while in officer training says those experiences forced him to take a hard look at his sleep disorders.

Out of that research he developed a quiz for the special report titled, "Zricks For Catching Zs", which aids you in identifying your own roadblocks to restful sleep.

Take the quiz and find out whats cheating you of a good nights sleep.

(1)Are you taking worrisome troubles to bed with you? No matter if youre a lawyer, physician, businessman or politician youll need to learn how to lock your problems in your office desk at the end of each day.

(2)Are you obsessed with the fact that you cant sleep? Stop saying to yourself that youre an insomniac. Sleep ends when worry begins. You also become vulnerable to relying on sleeping pills as your lucky rabbit's foot to finding sleep.

(3)Are you experiencing sleep combat? What are your sleeping conditions? Is the mattress hard? Does the baby cry when youre ready to sleep? Does phone ring at the midnight hour? Others battle a room thats too cold or too hot. Whatever the physical condition that gives you the sleeping blues work to remedy it.

(4)Are you wound tighter than a boa constrictor? Going to bed covered up with tension and fatigue will cause you a lot of sleepless nights. Tension causes the mind to become overactive. Like an Indy race driver who cant stop himself abruptly at the finish line, he has to keep running until he finally slows down to a crawl or runs out of gas. A hyper mind keeps working past bedtime, and you find yourself tensing up not bedding down.

If you answered yes to one or more of the questions Garths says there are practical ways to wake up in the morning feeling refreshed after a restful sleep.

He offers some Zricks from his report Zricks For Catching Zs.

- Dont grip the bed like a roller coaster. Let the bed grip you.
- For better sleeping dont roll into bed like a bowling ball. Instead act like the pole vaulter who flops into bed without regard for position.
- Dont fight the pillow. Toss around if you want because that relaxes you.
- Use it or lose it. You build up 'sleep debt' when you dont sleep but it can never be repaid. Power naps help but only 8 hours of sleep can satisfy the need for sleep.

Ive figured out the hard way that you cant woo the Sandman," says Garth.

But you can sneak up on him if you know how."
