Hell Burns Itself Out

Raw Dog Screaming Press releases "Last Burn in Hell," the debut novel from author John Edward Lawson. This postmodern pulp fantasy takes an irreverent look at prison culture, gender politics, and the proliferation of mass media, all with a hip-hop twist.

(PRWEB) April 2, 2005 -- Raw Dog Screaming Press continues to push the boundaries of fiction with the release of "Last Burn in Hell" by John Edward Lawson. The book focuses on Kenrick Brimley, the state prisons official gigolo, as he hangs over a lava pit on trial for his life in a strange land. He reveals the course of his life one misguided step at a time for his captors. From his romance with serial arsonist Leena Manasseh to his lurid angst-affair with a lesbian music diva, from his ascendance as unlikely pop icon to otherworldly encounters, the one constant truth is that hes got no clue what hes doing. This novel is distributed through Ingram, Baker & Taylor, Bertrams UK, and direct from the publisher.

Author John Edward Lawson will attend the World Horror Convention (April 7th-10th) as a member of the panels African American Issues in Horror Fiction, Building a Fan Base, and Starting a Small Press: Successes and Failures. He will also be on hand as sponsor of the celebrity poker tournament, in addition reading from his novel, taking part in the mass autograph signing, and hosting a release party. In August Lawson will appear at Horrorfind Weekend (August 19th-21st) to conduct a reading and signing. He will also appear at the World Fantasy Convention over Halloween weekend.

Lawson is well known in the small press for championing fringe fiction, particularly through editing anthologies such as the cult classic "Sick: An Anthology of Illness." Those with a taste for street culture, dark fiction, experimental literature, or edgy satire will be interested in what Last Burn in Hell has to offer. This book will be of special interest to those who enjoy the work of Chuck Palahniuk, Bret Easton Ellis, and Kurt Vonnegut.

In addition to author appearances, "Last Burn in Hell" will also be promoted through display ads in magazines, banner ads, catalogs, direct mail, and interviews. Visit the authors website at JohnLawson.org as his public appearance information is updated regularly.
