Belfort Instrument Company Gains FAA Approval for DigiWx AWOS Model 6000 Visibility Sensor

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is hereby certifying the Belfort Instrument Company, Model AV100, as a nonfederal automated weather-observing system (AWOS) providing altimeter setting and visibility.

(PRWEB) April 2, 2005 -- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is hereby certifying the Belfort Instrument Company, Model AV100, as a nonfederal automated weather-observing system (AWOS) providing altimeter setting and visibility.

Belfort Instrument Company has complied with all FAA requirements for type certification in accordance with the guidelines contained in FAA Advisory Circular 150/5220-16C, including Flight Standards requirements for providing official weather on Unicom or very high frequency (VHF).

The system that the FAA is providing certification to is the DigiWx AWOS (Model AV100), comprised as a minimum of two Belfort barometric sensors (Model HPA200WTTA), one visibility sensor (Model 6000), one ambient light sensor (Model 6300) and one data collection processor (Model 6794-01).
