A new book highlights the people and places in northern Arkansas. Little Gifts is a tale of one womans struggle to find her place in a world that no longer makes sense.

Each child struggles with his or her own feelings of abandonment and pain. The youngest child, Elizabeth, watches her family fall apart. Helpless, she can only wait and hope her two brothers will defeat their own personal demons. As she matures, Elizabeth witnesses the betrayal and strife that surrounds her. She begins to lose faith in mankind and religion. Until, the day she is struck with the realization that she had never really been abandoned or alone. She had simply been too consumed with her own hurt and sadness to appreciate these little gifts that had been bestowed upon her.
The author of Little Gifts, Paula Brewer, was born in northern Arkansas and returned to the region after college. The unique and tranquil beauty of the state serves as inspiration for many characters and stories.
