Lester Barrie to Headline SHOUT! An Evening of Gospel Comedy"
Gospel Comedy Show featuring nationally-known comedians and Gospel vocalists comes to San Digeo April 30 for one night only. Performance benefits San Ysidro's Willow Elementary School and the Moxie Theatre in Encinitas.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) April 3, 2005 -- "SHOUT! An Evening of Gospel Comedy," featuring nationally-known Gospel Comedian, the Reverend Lester Barrie, comes to San Diego for one night only Saturday, April 30, 2005, 8 PM at the Lyceum Theatre, Horton Plaza, Downtown San Diego.
Barrie, former host of BETs Comic View" joins the SHOUT! ensemble which includes vocalist Bobette Jamison-Harrison and comedian Marc Patrick. Jamison-Harrison is an accomplished vocalist who has performed with Stevie Wonder, Patti Labelle, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Kahn and others. Patrick, a retired Air Force Officer and veteran of over 300 USO performances, shares his comic view on relationships, finances, children and whatever else life throws our way.
This entertaining and uplifting evening is hosted by San Diego actor/comedian Mark Christopher Lawrence. Lawrence is known for his roles in local theatre productions as well as in Christmas with the Kranks," Garfield the Movie," Terminator II," Seinfeld," Dharma and Gregg" and Malcolm in the Middle."
"SHOUT! brings a different style of comedy to San Diego," explains Lawrence. Its bold, hip and hilarious, while at the same time completely clean and socially conscious. Its comedy for everyone!"
Part of the evenings proceeds will benefit two of Lawrences favorite causes: Willow Elementary school in San Ysidro, where he helps students discover the wide variety of careers they can choose, and Moxie Theatre in Encinitas, where he volunteers as a board member. .
