ForeWord Names ZenWise Selling Finalist in Book of the Year Awards
Latest accolade for new book that explains how to apply Zens ancient wisdom to business.
(PRWEB) April 5, 2005 -- Lee Goddens new business book, ZenWise Selling: Mindful Methods to Improve Your Sales...and Your Self (Telsius, 2004, ISBN 0974007609), has been named a finalist in the Book of the Year Awards. The awards, established by ForeWord Magazine in 1998, are one of the most prestigious affirmations of work coming from the independent press community.
Im honored by this recognition," said Godden. Its heartening to see so much interest from businesses, investors and consumers in what I call 'ethical profitability. Corporate social responsibility is no longer just a fad or a buzzword. Its here to stay as long as people continue to use their conscience when purchasing goods and services."
Forewords Book of the Year Awards focus librarian and bookseller attention on the literary achievements of independent publishers and their authors. The awards share in the process of discovering distinctive books in several categories. The judges decisions take into consideration editorial excellence, professional production, narrative originality and author credentials. Gold, Silver and Bronze winners will be named in each category at Book Expo America to be held at the Javits Convention Center in New York City in early June.
This is the latest in a number of recent awards for Goddens ZenWise Selling. It was named one of the top six small-publisher non-fiction titles of 2004 by Writers Digest, and it was also named Finalist in the Readers Preference Editors Choice Awards.
Several Fortune 500 executives have praised Goddens approach. Leslie Des Georges, Director of Strategic Sales for EMC Corporation, said, ZenWise Selling takes relationship sales to a whole new level." Harry Silverglide, former vice president of worldwide sales for Extreme Networks, Inc., said, This is a how-to book that a salesperson could proudly share with their customers and say, 'This is the way I do business."
Godden's articles appear in the Los Angeles Times and other publications. He writes the regular Advice for the Sales Professional column for the Long Beach Business Journal. Godden produces and hosts the television program Good Business, which was recently named Best New Program by Charter Communications. He is also West Coast correspondent for the PBS television program Ethical Marketplace.
