Scripting Life Stories Makes for Uncommon Retreat
We write" our lives in actions and through the stories we tell about our families and ourselves. Seldom, however, do we find the time to handwrite the stories we tell and retell. Woodstock, IL (PRWEB) April 6, 2005 -- We write" our lives in actions and through the stories we tell about our families and ourselves. Seldom, however, do we find the time to handwrite the stories we tell and retell. Scripting Life Stories" is a rare opportunity to coax you to recall and write your stories.
Surrounded by the elegant and serene environment of The Bundling Board Inn, Woodstock, IL your life stories will come alive under the skillful guidance of Dr. Jacqueline Kelsey. Stories help us to commemorate, learn, teach, and heal and you can learn how to easily write them in anecdotes," says Jacqueline.
Providing a setting where people can unwind and reconnect with themselves is an important aspect of the Bundling Board Inn", says Innkeeper Merida Johns. As a guest at the Inn last winter, Dr. Kelsey was enthralled with the intimate atmosphere. It didnt take the two of us long to see that the Inn is the perfect setting for making it easy to write about life stories, adds Merida. In fact, each room in the Inn is a story in itself. The rooms, all named after women who lived at the turn of the last century, contain photographs, books, diaries and personal mementos of these women for guests enjoyment.
Jacquelines interactive workshop encourages participants through thought and written exercises to connect the past and present to imagine the significance of the events in their lives. The writing method used is non-threatening. If you have ever told a story you can write it, says Jacqueline. Many people with whom Dr. Kelsey has worked have learned to appreciate more deeply their lives and the people in them. Others have found profound healing and all see the past and future as holding special lessons.
Jacquelines life story work generates from her doctoral research on the roles of imagination and nature in developing a worldview. The perspective enables me to lead others in cultural story, where people integrate with nature," she adds. Additional information about Jacqueline can be found on her website http://www.livinginstory.com.
