Search Marketing Industry Organization Chooses New Officers.

Dana Todd of SiteLab International Inc. has been elected as President of the Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization (SEMPO). Ms. Todd, one of the original founders of the organization, was one of four officers elected by the Board of Directors. She had previously served as Vice President of the outgoing Board.

SEMPO members represent more than 330 companies involved in the search marketing industry worldwide. This is the first official election since the organization formed in 2003. Other positions filled included: Kevin Lee of Did-It (Chairman); John Sanchez of Zunch Communications (Vice President); and Jeffery Pruitt of iCrossing (Secretary/Treasurer).

The general election results were announced on March 1, 2005 at the Search Engine Strategies conference in New York City, where the new Board members were introduced to the members at a SEMPO general meeting held during the conference. A total of 13 Board seats were filled, resulting in representation from companies of all sizes and several countries. The newly formed Board announced the officer roster a few weeks later.

Ms. Todd, Executive Vice President and co-founder of interactive agency SiteLab, has been a leader in search marketing since 1996. She has hands-on experience in all facets of search marketing, from the technical side of site optimization to managing pay-per-click search ad campaigns. She is frequently sought as a subject matter expert for her candor and industry insight.
