Canadian Mom Launches Unique New Shopping Website

Online retailer, The Mommy Marketplace, provides an outlet for moms to sell their hand-crafted products, and provides consumers with a quick and easy way to find great products all in one place!

(PRWEB) April 9, 2005 -- The Mommy Marketplace is an online retail store made up of many members from around the world. It carries a wide variety of beautiful handmade products, as well as a carefully chosen selection of retail products. While in many respects, The Mommy Marketplace can be classified as a mall, it is unique in that it allows consumers to purchase items from multiple members but only go through the checkout process once.

Danielle Burgi, owner of The Mommy Marketplace, successfully launched her first online retail store, Baby Planet, over a year ago. Since then, she has been involved in many aspects of the online retail industry, from management to marketing to web design. I met Danielle when she purchased a product I sell, used it with great success on her infant son, and endeavoured to help me distribute the product in Canada. She has been a reliable and efficient source of ideas, solutions and creativity for my online businesses ever since, from product distribution to web design, and of course to organizing the innovative online entity, The Mommy Marketplace. I am really excited to be a member of this group, not only because it has increased my sales and added to my online presence, but because I think we provide a much more community-centered atmosphere for our online consumer families," says Darcie French, BSW, co-owner of Baby Sleep Help.

The online market can be extremely overwhelming for consumers and small business owners alike," says Burgi. As a consumer, it is all too easy to spend hours surfing the internet looking for great products for themselves and their family. The Mommy Marketplace provides consumers a place to find many of these products under one roof"."

Years ago, an online entrepreneur simply had to have a product to sell and it seemed they were virtually guaranteed success," continues Burgi. Now, with the over saturation of the internet, business owners are finding it increasingly difficult to make a name for themselves. The Mommy Marketplace provides a central location where these individuals can sell their products. When I started my first business, I discovered that there are literally thousands of other moms out there trying to get a business off the ground, all targeting the same market. By combining our efforts, we are able to establish a much larger presence on the internet than most of us could achieve on our own."

As a mother herself, Burgi says, I wish there had been something like this when I first became a mom. I was constantly looking for unique products for my son, not products that could be found at any major chain store. Why buy something online if you can buy it at the store down the street? But I found that searching the internet for products could be very time-consuming, and in many cases, fruitless. It brings me great pleasure to be able to provide this service to consumers and business owners."

The Mommy Marketplace just opened its doors in January 2005. Since then, many new members have joined and added their wonderful products to the ever-growing selection. Mothers, their families, and small business owners are encouraged to visit The Mommy Marketplace at http://www.themommymarketplace.com and see first-hand what it has to offer.
