Now is the time for fans to prepare themselves as plans continue unfolding for the May 20th "Just A Few Cats CD Release Extravaganza" taking place at Workplay Theatre. Ruben Studdard, the bands original lead singer, will be the special host for this night of frisky fun and celebration with the Cats. Birmingham, AL (PRWEB) April 9, 2005 -- Five years after kitten" around in their Birmingham litter box, musical sensation, Just A Few Cats, is making waves on local radio stations after releasing the single, Lost in Love," from their debut album, "CATastrophunk." And as if that wasnt enough, these full-grown alley cats will be the main attraction at their eventful, star-studded CD Release Extravaganza, which is taking place on May 20th at WorkPlay Theatre, and will be hosted by their former lead vocalist, 2003 American Idol, Ruben Studdard.

"CATastrophunk" was independently recorded by Just A Few Cats, with music production led by the exceptionally-gifted Alvin Cornbread" Garrett, who is also the Executive Producer. Moving songs such as If I Could Press Rewind," Lost in Love," which has become an instant radio hit, and the rhythmic funk jam, Dont Stop Baby," are just a few hot tracks from the album that predict the triumphant outcome of this cat tale.

Complete with their new album is a total image overhaul, which consists of animation and a new logo that has been pawing everyone in its path. Yet, with the pungent smell of sweet success in the cat-mosphere," these handsome cats are still the same, fun-loving young men on a mission: to make the path less painless for upcoming Birmingham artists.

Lots of young performers in this area aspire to be recording artists, but oftentimes find it difficult to gain access to the resources they need to move forward," said Garrett, who is also the bands bass guitarist. In relation to the attention being drawn to Birmingham by "American Idol" winner, Ruben Studdard, and current "AI" contender, Bo Bice, Garrett also stated, Two years ago, it was Ruben-ham, and today, its Bo-mingham. But it will always be the 2-0-5. We have been, and want to continue to be an integral part of the evolution of the local music and entertainment scene here in Birmingham and surrounding areas in Alabama."

A touring band made up of various musicians and lead vocalists, Just A Few Cats staple members also include Coleman Woodson III, Tim George and Terrence T-Nasty" Baldwin. And no matter how busy these talented and frisky felines are nowadays, they keep themselves available to perform at private and corporate functions. They also have a number of community service projects lined up, which kicks off with their charitable performance at downtown Birminghams "1040 Fest" on Friday, April 15th.
