Morristown, NJ (PRWEB) April 12, 2005
Judy Patterson in 1991 found herself wandering around a Multimedia Computer show in the heart of New York City where vendors had come from around the country to show off the latest technology innovations. Bright colorful software, dazzling video effects, and interactive displays were being promoted as the tools that would revolutionize the business world. Surrounded by all the excitement, Judy, a schoolteacher with an expansive background in early childhood education, saw something completely different. It was at that moment the vision for Imagine Tomorrow was born.
Patterson immediately began work on her first Computer Center for Kids. She wouldn't even think of simply using the software that was on the shelves for kids. That was out of the question. She wanted her classroom to be filled with the exciting high-end technology she had seen at the show for businesses. She was determined to get those sophisticated tools in the hands of kids - and she did.
In 1991 Patterson launched her Computer Center with unbelievable success. Parents would get on waiting lists to have their child join one of Patterson's unique technology enrichment classes. Word of this innovative new activity quickly spread, and it wasn't long before she was getting unsolicited, national media attention. Recounting the experience, Patterson flashes her signature smile as she casually mentions that, "out of the hundreds of inquiries, it was probably the calls from Singapore in the middle of the night that made me stop and think we were on to something much bigger!"
An entrepreneur at heart, with a natural sense for business, Judy knew the only way to grow her company was to first get more pieces in place. The first step to building a solid foundation for long-term success was to find a creative team that could help execute the next phase of Imagine Tomorrow's strategy. Lucky for her, she didn't have to look far to find a diversely talented group of individuals who shared her passion. Two of her daughters, her son-in-law and her husband came on board as partners in the Company and brought to the table backgrounds that encompassed everything from programming and graphic design, to acting, broadcast media and entrepreneurial business.
With a team in place, Imagine Tomorrow launched additional locations and began work on prototyping new curriculum, custom software, and a sophisticated web-based infrastructure to manage it all. They tested aspects of the program at the Company's privately operated Computer Centers, and even piloted programs in schools across different demographics in the country. The success of the program, once again, began to attract national attention. When Judy and daughter, Laura St. John, were asked to present their innovative program to Early Childhood educators from around the country at the highly renowned 2001 National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) conference in New York City, Judy once again knew they were on to something bigger.
Today, true to Judy PattersonÂs mission, Imagine Tomorrow is bringing the latest sophisticated technology and putting it in the hands of young children. The Imagine Tomorrow experience is really a new formula for learning. It combines the excitement of great educational television, the interactivity of software, and the learning structure of your best early childhood classroom, and brings them together in a single activity for children ages 2-7. Pointing to the time-tested success of this learning environment, the Imagine Tomorrow experience is now being offered to children around the country.
Excited entrepreneurs, who share the Imagine Tomorrow vision, can now license the Company's custom software, curriculum and support packages - and even attend training seminars offered by the Company. With her Entrepreneur classes filling as quickly as her Computer Center classes did, Judy Patterson and the entire Imagine Tomorrow team have clearly hit a market niche. And, as for the former schoolteacher, Patterson sees the potential for this Company is really very great! "I am excited every time I Imagine what Tomorrow will bring!" remarks Patterson with confidence.
In a few short months, since September 2004, the company has already expanded from 3 company owned centers to 22 locations offering Imagine Tomorrow Computer Classes in NJ, NY and VA. Laura St. John, Executive VP, said, Ânearly all of the entrepreneurs coming on board are parents - 'mamapreneurs & papapreneurs' - with young children who understand the importance of the early childhood market.Â
