Email Hosting Firm Aims to Expand Product Development and Accelerate Revenue Growth

Webmail.us, the premier provider of on-demand email hosting backed by its industry leading customer service and support, announced today that the company has successfully completed its “Series A” round of financing, raising $400,000 from private and angel investors. Investors hail from Southwest Virginia and as far away as Chicago. The funds will be used to accelerate revenue growth and expand product development initiatives, including the build out of an RSS aggregator that will seamlessly integrate with webmail and desktop email applications, like Microsoft Outlook, for example.

“This funding event is an incredibly rewarding milestone for our company,” said Patrick Matthews, chief executive officer of Webmail.us. “We’ve built our company from the ground up with very little seed funding and no venture capital whatsoever. We rode the dot-com roller coaster, we rebounded, we persevered, we survived and now we’re prospering and achieving great things. We've been cash flow positive for some time and now and have a great group of investors that believe in us 100% – and are very supportive of our short- and long-term goals.”

Webmail.us, along with its growing list of private-label reseller partners, provides more than 5,000 small-to-medium businesses and distributed enterprises with enterprise-class email hosting protected from spam, computer viruses and other security threats facing corporate email systems. The company manages and maintains this critical communications infrastructure, freeing up personnel resources and eliminating the need for organizations to purchase email-related hardware, software and security services – all for a fraction of the cost of purchasing and managing the solution in-house. The email-hosting platform is housed in carrier-grade data centers, to ensure maximum uptime. Webmail.us also goes to great lengths to ensure its customers’ privacy – promising not to sell customer data or advertise to them – key reasons for being awarded the TRUSTe privacy seal.

In the last year, Webmail.us has released significant improvements to its outsourced email hosting platform and webmail interface. The company has also made several key additions to its senior management team, relocated its business from Northern to Southwest Virginia, expanded offices twice, signed more than 40 private label reseller partners, and nearly tripled the size of its overall customer base.

“We've made tremendous strides in the last 12 months,” explained Matthews. “We've done a fantastic job at growing our business organically. With this new round of financing, we'll be able to accelerate the execution of our vision. We are big believers in the on-demand, 'software as a service' business model – and we believe the hosted email market in particular is in its infancy. We look forward to helping it reach its true potential.”
