"Will Howard Stern Leave Infinity Broadcasting Early to go to Sirius Radio?"
WagerWeb Posts Odds On: "Will Howard Stern Leave Infinity Broadcasting Early
Zapote, Costa Rica (PRWEB) April 14, 2005 -- What will shock-jock Howard Stern do next? This time though the question isnt about what he will say on the air that will upset the FCC , its whether he will be leaving his current employer Viacom-owned Infinity Broadcasting early to start his new contract with Sirius Satellite radio. Sirius signed him in 2004 for a five year deal worth 100$ million per year to start in January 2006, right after his current contract with Infinity is over. In recent months though there have been rumors that Stern is either going to leave Infinity early or try to get fired so is he able to.
Other than the enormous amount of money that Stern will be receiving one of the keys to his departure from his longtime employer Infinity, is that on Sirius he will not have any of the restrictions that are placed on him while on public radio. Sirius charges customers $12.99 a month for their service of over 120 channels, half of which are commercial free. Much in the way that HBO can air R rated movies and use bad language, it is the same for paid radio in which the customers are listening at their own discretion.
"Stern is one of the highest rated and most controversial radio djs in history," said Wagerweb.com CEO Dave Johnson. "Part of his appeal is that he does not pull any punches when it comes to indecency and has had the FCC on him for years. According to wagerweb.com sources Stern truly wants to leave Infinity as soon as possible and that reflects in the amount of wagers we have already received on him leaving early from his current contract.."
