TechBirmingham Ecycling Day - Collection Locations Set

15 Convenient Locations Selected near where Birminghams residents live and work. Citizens are asked to donate unused computers, cell phones, and other electronics on Earth Day 2005.

(PRWEB) April 13, 2005 -- When citizens in the Birmingham region want to contribute their unused computers, cell phones, and other electronic items on Earth Day, they wont have far to travel! TechBirmingham is announcing the fifteen (15) convenient locations for dropping off unused computing equipment.

Corporate Birmingham has already been hard at work clearing out their storage rooms, providing the TechBirmingham Ecycling Day with thousands of unused computers, monitors, printers, cell phones, and even one old mainframe. Alabama Computer Disposal Group in Birmingham has partnered with TechBirmingham to collect these items from corporations in the metro area.

The time for consumers to get in on the act is fast approaching. Friday, April 22nd, Earth Day is the consumer collection date. Volunteers at most locations will assist in the unloading of donated equipment and provide each consumer with a tax receipt. Hours of operations will be 11:00am to 7:00pm at almost all locations. Handoff Wireless, Fultondale Waste Complex, and Shelby County Landfill will accept items from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Jefferson County residents may bring Ecycling items for proper disposal to one of four regional collection sites on Saturday -- the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, Bessemer Civic Center, the Alabama State Fairgrounds (Birmingham), and the Center Point Courthouse. Proof of residency is required for these locations.
