Each year, the event is held in conjunction with National Small Business Week. The "Chamber's Outstanding Business of the Year Awards Gala" will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at the St. Petersburg Hilton.
Saint Petersburg, FL (PRWEB) April 16, 2005 -- Brown Security & Law Group, P.A. is a minority and veteran owned small business that provides security consulting, intelligence and investigation services. The firm's goal is to help businesses reduce losses caused by inadequate security measures. These losses can occur because of harm to employees, property damage, theft or lawsuits from allegations of negligent security.
What distinguishes Brown Security & Law Group, P.A. from the rest is the extensive training and experience of its founder, Alvin K. Brown. Before opening his own firm, Alvin was employed by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) as a security officer. His duties included providing executive protection to the former Director of Central Intelligence, Mr. George Tenet, and assessing and improving security at CIA facilities overseas. While with the CIA, Alvin was trained as an operations officer and had the opportunity to collect information, write intelligence reports and participate in intelligence operations.
Additionally, Alvin served as a prosecutor for the Pinellas County State Attorneys Office where he managed over 200 criminal investigations per month and prosecuted numerous criminal cases. He has taught International Terrorism at the University of South Florida, and is currently an adjunct instructor at the National Terrorism Preparedness Institute and in the Security Management Program, both located at St. Petersburg College. He is board certified in Security Management, and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
With his training and experience, Al understands security from a legal perspective and a security perspective. The ultimate goal would be to prevent any issues in the first place but once a violation has occurred, Als position is one of making the charges stick and preventing liability for the organization.
