Arlington, Texas' A Piece of the Action Collectibles Hosts Convention Awareness Day on Free Comic Book Day

Saturday, May 7, 2005 is international Free Comic Book Day. A Piece of the Action Collectibles (in the Festival Marketplace Mall, Arlington, TX) brings you a little something extra on this day, a chance to learn about the rich and diverse comic/sci-fi/toy/fan convention scene in the DFW area and statewide! Meet representatives from at least six local shows, get info on thier attractions throughout the coming year and into 2006, and become part of the fun that is the local fan community.

(PRWEB) April 17, 2005 -- A Piece of the Action Collectibles is a small comic, action figure, and collectibles retailer located in the Festival Marketplace Mall in Arlington, Texas (Hwy. 303 and Hwy. 360). Our shop is open weekends only and we are also frequent sellers at many conventions and shows in the Dallas/Fort Worth area as well as other parts of Texas. We are dedicated to increasing awareness of the diversity of convention venues in the state in general and the DFW area specificly. To that end we have created Convention Awareness Day ("You Can't Go if You Don't Know!").

This one-day event, to be held on Saturday, May 7, 2005 from 12 PM to 3 PM will be attended by representatives of at least six (confirmed as of press time) local comic, sci-fi, toy, and fan-based shows/conventions. These organizers will be promoting their upcoming shows well into the 2006 season, distributing literature, and increasing awareness of their endeavors. Everyone is invited to come out and learn more about the fan community and these great shows, meet the organizers, enjoy costumed guests, and partake of Free Comic Book Day (while supplies last) at A Piece of the Action Collectibles.

Get in on the ground floor of what promises to be a major event on the convention calendar in the DFW area. Shows scheduled to attend this event are All-Con (Dallas, TX), Collectibles Extravaganza (Hurst, TX), ConDFW (Dallas, TX), FenCon (Dallas, TX), Metroplex Die-Cast & Collectibles Show (Dallas, TX), and Sci-Fi Expo/Dallas ComiCon (Plano, TX).
