LogiXML's LGX BI Report Development Platform lets developers build full-featured web-based reports, charting, dashboards, and portals within a single environment, plus a range of security options built-in

LogiXML (http://www.logixml.com) today announces general availability of LogiXML LGX Info Version 7, a key component of the company's Business Intelligence Report Development Platform for delivering Web browser-based reports.

Building full-featured web-based reports, charting, dashboards, and portals are high priorities for organizations, ISVs and VARs who need to quickly distribute complex information to users. LGX Info leverages an XML-based element driven architecture to provide developers with a drag and drop user interface that works to shorten and simplify development processes and eliminate extensive, time-consuming coding.

LGX Info provides a reporting environment where end-users can view and interact with all of their key business data in one place, performing one-click calculations on chosen data sets, sorting and grouping data and drilling down into charts and graphs.

“Our clients around the world rely on Control Point Solutions (http://www.controlpointsolutions.com) to help them aggressively manage their utilization of telecom spending,” said Rodney Sampson, Vice President of Operations at Control Point Solutions, a worldwide leader in telecom expense management (TEM) software, TEM Outsourcing, and Professional Services.

“One major Fortune 100 client challenged us with a demanding project that required aggressive response times against a huge multi-gigabyte database. We needed to present complex reports via a web browser to satisfy their demands and give them the information they need to make vital decisions. LogiXML Info allowed our developers to respond to our clients’ high standards for functionality and speed and win their business yet again,” added Sampson.

“The need for zero-footprint, web browser-based reporting grows everyday with more and more corporate IT departments, ISVs and VAR's realizing that a Web client is the model end users expect today and will demand in the future,” said Arman Eshraghi, LogiXML CEO. “LGX Info allows developers to respond to users demands for dashboards, portals and complex reports by taking advantage of many of the critical features that differentiate the LGX BI Report Development Platform.”

Security, Dashboard and Portal Development Capabilities Built-in

Using LGX Info, developers can create corporate portals quickly and easily and develop reports with comprehensive interactive data analysis, dashboard views of Key Performance Indicators, report scheduling and delivery and custom alerts.

Reports include extensive cross tab and drill down options, printing and interactive formatting, and a wide variety of charting possibilities. Results can be exported as Excel, PDF, Access, CSV, and HTML files, stored as files in selected folders, sent to users via email and saved within databases.

Comprehensive and flexible security options allow developers and administrators to use LGX Info's built-in security or tie into existing authorization and authentication systems. Developers can enable role-base authorization at the data column and row levels and can also show, hide and disable report elements based user authorization. LGX Info built-in security works with databases, NT Security, Active Directory, and LDAP.

In addition to LGX Info, LogiXML offers a complete set of report development products for Web browser-based reporting that can be used as a powerful managed report development platform for business intelligence delivery to end users, including LGX Report and LGX Report Plus. The company also offers the powerful LGX Ad Hoc product for end-user driven report development.

Built on XML technology, the LGX Business Intelligence Report Development Platform lets developers create full-featured web-based reports using a drag and drop user interface. The platform allows developers to connect with web services and all major (or ODBC and OLEDB compliant) databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Sybase, MySQL, etc., and can be deployed across any .NET architecture.
