LiveTime Software First to Market with Java-Verified Consolidated Service Desk Applications

Vendor neutral J2EE application highlights importance of open standards and interoperability.

Newport Beach, CA (PRWEB) April 19, 2005 -- LiveTime Software today announced that its enterprise-level, consolidated service desk applications, LiveTime Help Desk and LiveTime Support Desk v3.5, successfully completed Sun Microsystems' (Nasdaq: SUNW) Java Application Verification for the Enterprise (Java AVK Enterprise) program and is now certified as Java Powered for the Enterprise. LiveTime is the first consolidated service desk application vendor to receive this level of certification from Sun. LTSsquare.logo.jpg

The Java Powered for the Enterprise" program tests the portability of enterprise applications across different implementations of the enterprise Java platform, also known as Java 2 Enterprise Edition, (J2EE). The Java AVK Enterprise uses guidelines and rules published by Sun to test and validate J2EE solutions. The Java-verification authenticates LiveTimes compatibility with all J2EE technologies and platforms, and confirms that LiveTime Help Desk and Support Desk are true 'Write Once, Run Anywhere' Java applications.

LiveTime worked with Sun to complete the rigorous verification program," said Dr George Vossos, Chief Technology Officer of LiveTime Software. The support for a wide range of operating systems, J2EE compatible application servers and option to run against any RDBMS, enables LiveTime customers to use their existing IT infrastructure and in-house technical expertise to deploy and manage a world-class service desk operation."

Achieving the status of Java Powered for the Enterprise" enables industry leading software vendors like LiveTime to provide products that have been verified to deliver portability across all J2EE application servers", said David Bryant, Director of Java Platform Product Marketing, Sun Microsystems. This gives customers the added level of assurance that their application will deploy on any Java platform. It also provides a point of differentiation when assessing the capability and maturity of products, such as LiveTime's customer support solutions."

Successfully meeting all of Sun's J2EE cross-platform criteria enables LiveTime to feature the Sun "Java Powered for the Enterprise" brand and logo. The certification is expected to influence the decision of many potential customers that require the added level of assurance that their service desk can work in mixed mode application server environments.
