ÂOf all the songs on our single compilation CD, they picked KeenanÂs song, Decent, said Joey Weltz. ÂWe are pleased to have this talented genius on board, continues Joey.
KeenanÂs "Decent" song is on his Â12 Oclock Album, which is an 100% Electronic Dance Album. ÂDecent has received airplay locally on WCDB fm 90.9 College Radio, Albany New York, also KBON, Eunice, LA, WCDB fm 90.9 College Radio, Albany New York, WVGR, 104.1, Grand Rapids, MI, KXLU, 88.9,Los Angeles CA, KLRZ/KLEB/KANE, 100.3 FM, New Orleans Louisiana, and WMPG, 90.9, Portland, ME. KeenanÂs has four songs produced into radio commercials, ÂWhereÂs My Song, ÂMotivation and ÂSpace AgeÂ, and ÂNew Insomnia. Dan McWilliams, production director from Radio One Communications, Valparaiso, Indiana said ÂHe is a genius. Valparaiso is located right outside the Chicago area.
ÂKeenan is truly gifted, many times he counter points his melodies, and in one of his latest song he even uses four counterpoints, said Bill Thice, from Front Porch Music, Valparaiso, Indiana. ÂMost composers donÂt develop counter pointing until later on, if at all, but Keenan just does it without knowing it, continued Bill.
Keenan likes Hip Hop, Rap, Dance, Techno, and House and his instrumentals combine elements of them all. Keenan has over 25 dance songs written to date and hopes to publish "Club" Album in 2005. Keenan hopes to revive the dance genre with his unique style of counterpointing of several melodies at the same time.
Keenan is the new generation of music, digitally in and digitally out, and started over five years ago just clicking around. Composing his songs on a computer and not professionally trained, has allowed him to develop his own style right from the start. His songs have many layers of instruments sometimes with several sub-harmonies and over 24-28 tracks. Keenan started these songs just out of pure enjoyment and only to satisfy his own creativity. After being discovered by a local talent search from Chicago, Richard Fammeree, Keenan was encouraged to cut his first CD. His sounds are upbeat Dance/techno format, easy to listen to but with a little edge. His songs also take you to several plateaus with various instruments added and taken away along the way. His songs are mood changers, and can only be described as the next genertaion of "Yanni." Keenan also does his own mastering, producing, and editing.
"We really think Keenan's has a shot at getting a major label to pick him up," stated Joey Wetltz. Keenan Baxter's website is http://www.keenanbaxter.com and more of his music can be heard at http://www.cdbaby.com and also on http://www.broadjam.com
