Former major league baseball star Jay Johnstones company Sporthings will be conducting a sports and entertainment memorabilia show at Caesars Palace this weekend.

(PRWEB) April 21, 2005 -- Former major league baseball star Jay Johnstones company Sporthings will be conducting a sports and entertainment memorabilia show at Caesars Palace Las Vegas this weekend.

The show is a fundraiser for the Christian Okoye Foundation and Miracle Flights For Kids. Other fundraising activities this weekend include a celebrity golf tournament at Cascata and dinner featuring an Eric Dickerson Roast".

The memorabilia show will be held from April 22nd through the April 24th upstairs in Roman III room at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. Show hours will be 10:00 am to 4:00pm Friday and Saturday, and 10:00 to 2:00 on Sunday.

Included at the show will be items exlusive to Sporthings and unavailable anywhere else.

Jay Johnstone formed Sporthings in 1995 with partner, Lauren Hammond. What started as a fun, part-time venture became a full-time endeavor. Through word-of-mouth, the company grew so quickly that Lauren devoted her time exclusively to Sporthings. They currently provide items for about 15-20 charity auctions a month. They also provide athletes for speaking engagements, baseball clinics, fantasy camps and promotions.

A former Major Leaguer, Jay played for 20 years with eight different teams. He began his career with the California Angels in 1966 and won the American League Rookie of the year. He played on eight divisional winning teams and earned four World Series rings. Known as a prankster, Jay wrote about his escapades on the road in three hilarious books, two of which hit the bestseller list. He hosted the "Lighter Side of Sports" and "Baseball's Funniest Pranks" and was a radio broadcaster for the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies.
