Online Sports Training Company Releases Revolutionary Guide on Speed Training

Total Improvement Performance has just released it's new informative e-book on using GPS technology with a traditional sports performance training program. The e-book is authored by one of the experts on GPS speed training, Rick Karboviak, who is also the owner of Total Improvement Performance. Rick combines his expertise and practical use of the GPS speed tracking systems into one useful guide for coaches and athletes who train for speed improvements.

(PRWEB) April 22, 2005 -- Today's technology in the skies is helping tomorrow's superstar athlete become faster. GPS satellite technology is now able to help today's athlete see how fast they travel, how much ground they cover, and help them train smarter, not just harder, in their workouts. One company is leading the way in incorporating this technology into the traditional training programs of athletes. That company is Total Improvement Performance. TIP is a fitness and sports training consulting company, offering advice and programs to coaches and athletes through their website, www.thetipedge.com. TIP's owner and Sports Performance Director, Rick Karboviak, CSCS, is a leading expert and author on incorporating this technology into today's athletic setting.

How does this GPS technology make an athlete faster? Karboviak explains: " The GPS technology is worn as a wristwatch and monitor, which link up with the satellites, and calculate the athlete's current, average, and maximum speeds, as well as tracking their total mileage they cover." So, the athlete now has a personal speedometer attached to them, while exercising outdoors. Runners, cyclists, and triathletes first caught onto the technology once it became available back in 2002. Karboviak took his coaching experience with cross-country runners and applied this technology to those athletes. "The athletes were able to recognize what paces they needed to run at instantly, instead of waiting until the end to hear a stopwatch time." This instant feedback allows the athlete to "fine-tune" their body to paces and speeds they need to compete at.

Karboviak has incorporated this speed tracking device into his athlete's workouts with great success, athletes who train for baseball and football, for instance. Karboviak adds: "An athlete is always motivated by a faster 40 yard dash time, a faster 100m dash time, and so on. Now, they have the capability to literally see how fast they are traveling in miles per hour, instead of getting just a time read to them. They not only learn how fast they are going, but also how fast they need to run at for their drills." The information that the coach and athlete receive can be valuable in learning what competition speeds feel like.

In order to help today's coaches and athletes, TIP has just released its new training guide, entitled "The T3 System: Turbo Techno Training", which gives them a user-friendly guide to implementing this technology into their training. More information can be found at www.thetipedge.com/t3.html.

On a final note, Karboviak adds: "Today's athlete can be tomorrow's superstar performer if they learn how to train smarter, as they train harder. The GPS technology can aid an athlete in training in their maximum speed zones for maximum benefit in their workouts. This enables them to train their body efficiently, and leaves more time to devote to quality workouts, leaving out poor quality sprints and drills that are worthless to them in the end. This technology is just getting warmed up in how effective it can be for today's athlete."
