The article is of particular value to sufferers and victims - and their carers, of chronic, long-term or terminal illnesses such as Cancer or AIDS. It illustrates how life quality and remission rates, where appropriate, can be vastly improved by employing some fairly straightforward and simple mental strategies and Mind Tools".

The article ranges across the following areas.
The use of some very effective 'Mind tools based upon modern psychological techniques, to deal with stress, 'anger management and negative mental or emotional states. These may be applied very effectively in improving the mental and even physiological states of sufferers of chronic conditions such as cancer, AIDS and some other long-term or terminal illnesses.

Hypnosis and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) are two such, highly effective Mind Technologies - which are used synergistically and this combination is termed HypnosNLP (TM). Descriptions of how these and other allied techniques can be used to improve the 'Life Quality of cancer victims are discussed. Also drawn upon are the work and case studies of some very prominent exponents in this field, such as the Drs Simonton, Dr Bernie Siegel, Dr Lawrence LeShan, Dr Herbert Benson and others.

Press Release:
Gregory Antão a UK based Hypnotherapist and Licensed NLP Practitioner has written an article on how some cutting edge Mind Technologies can be used very effectively to enhance life quality and rates of remission of victims and sufferers of chronic, long-term or terminal illnesses such as Cancer or AIDS.

Today in the UK cancer is part of the grim reality of modern life. In fact 'more than one in three people will be diagnosed with a cancer in their lifetime and one in four will die from cancer. Very grim statistics indeed.

One important question addressed by the article is: "Are there particular traits or predicates that may predispose someone to developing cancer?"

American Dr Douglas Brodie, MD, who specializes in the treatment of cancer patients using alternative therapies, has identified what he calls a Cancer Personality.

This is comprehensively described in the article.

Another important question also addressed is: Is there a given patient psychological profile -- which may predispose someone to respond very favourably to these treatments?" This is also comprehensively described in the article.

The article also discusses the following aspects of treatments:
1) The link between the effects of stress, such as adrenaline release and the decrease in the availability of antibodies, as well as the reduction in both the number and potency of lymphocytes. Also addressed is the direct connection between the immune system organs - the spleen, the thymus gland, bone marrow and the lymph nodes - and how the emotional states of depression and elevated stress can adversely affect immune efficacy. Also most importantly, how the two-way neuropeptide communication links between the brain and body cells and organs can be affected by different 'mind states .

2) The successful, contemporary, alternative mind therapies, used to treat cancer and chronically ill patients, covered by this article, range from the well known "Placebo Effect" to the relatively modern field of 'Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI).

3) Also covered are other Mind Therapies such as 'Affirmation, 'Meditation and 'Visualization. The highly important work of an Australian psychiatrist, the late Dr. Ainslie Meares, in relation to 'meditation directed against tumours, came to public notice during the '70s and early '80s. This had a very high rate of efficacy in the remission rates of the disease. Meares believed that his treatment significantly 'reduced anxiety, depression, discomfort, and pain in about 50 percent of his patients. He also affirmed that tumour regression, as a result of the 'intensive meditation, was experienced by at least 10 percent of the 'advanced cancer patients he had treated. This is highlighted in this article.

Using the predominantly Visualization based Simonton approach - there were reports from the Drs. Simonton claiming an enhanced life expectancy of about 150-200 percent over 'nationally expected norms for control groups of cancer sufferers who had only employed conventional medical interventions.

4) The article also goes on to cite some extraordinarily encouraging results using Hypnosis and NLP, as well as the Psychotherapy and ECaP programs conducted by Dr Lawrence LeShan MD and Dr Bernie Siegel MD respectively.

5) These treatment modalities have also been independently reviewed - with some very positive indications, by the US Congress, Office of Technology Assessment, in their report 'Unconventional Cancer Treatments, OTA-H-405, in Chapter 2. Behavioral and Psychological Approaches.

6) The use of Gregory Antao's own highly effective synergistic method of HypnosNLP(TM) is described in the article also.
