Saskatchewans Own Creating A Buzz On The Music Scene
Hard work starting to pay off for singer/songwriter as he tries his hand at a career in the music industry.
(PRWEB) April 23, 2005 -- A homegrown talent and natural performer, Codie Prevost is capturing peoples attention wherever he performs. Prevost is a singer /songwriter originating from rural Saskatchewan where he grew up on a farm near Rose Valley. He started singing and playing guitar at the age of 12 and now at the age of 20 Codie is diligently working towards reaching his career goals in the music industry. Touring to gain experience as well as promote his cd release. Over the next several months Codie will be appearing at various homecomings, festivals, centennial celebrations, fundraisers and other venues across the province.
Recently Codie was featured on Telemiracle, and also had the opportunity to be a part of The Ronnie Prophet Show. At this year's Saskatchewan Country Music Awards in Regina, Prevost was nominated along with Brad Johner, Sean Hogan and shared the stage with other nominees such as The Poverty Plainsmen, Jessica Robinson, and Stephanie Thomson.
Prevost along with his manager Alain Leblanc spent the month of February in Nashville Tennessee where he recorded the tracks for his debut full-length cd produced by Singer/Songwriter Steve Fox. During this time Prevost had the opportunity to collaborate with various songwriters such as Adam Wheeler(Clay Walker, Tracey James) and fellow Canadian Tim Taylor(Jason McCoy, Deric Ruttan). The CD "The Road Ahead" was recorded at Omni Sound Studios(Diamond Rio, Alan Jackson) with some overdubs done at the home studio of producer Steve Fox. The musicians featured on the album are Greg Morrow(Gretchen Wilson, Paul Brandt), Danny Parks(Blaine Larsen, Toby Keith), Gary Lunn(Montgomery Gentry, Michael W. Smith) & Barry Walsh(Sherrie Austin, Waylon Jennings) who are among some of the best in Nashville.
