Biotrue Announces Availability of Windows Server 2003 Port
Biotrue Inc. today announced the commercial availability of its Collaborative Data Management System for Microsofts Windows Server 2003, to meet the needs of customers who prefer a Windows Server-based system.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 25, 2005 -- Biotrue Inc. today announced the commercial availability of its Collaborative Data Management System (CDMS) for Microsofts Windows Server 2003. The CDMS is an easy-to-use, web-accessible software system for capturing, storing, managing and retrieving the vast quantities of data generated by modern research instruments. While it improves the accessibility and security of data, the CDMS also provides significant productivity enhancements to speed the progress of research in both academic and commercial laboratories.
Antony Chiang, Biotrue co-founder and CEO, said, While the National Institutes of Health supported the development of the CDMS on the open-source Linux platform, we have discovered that several potential customers preferred a Windows Server-based system. To meet their needs of those customers, we advanced the development of our Windows port by several months. The basic architecture of the CDMS has not changed, so it remains a browser-accessed system that can be used with Windows, Macintosh and Linux clients."
Dr. David Asmuth, of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of California Davis Medical School, said, "We are leading an NIH-sponsored collaborative effort of six research laboratories across the country validating a flow cytometry assay performed on several different instruments in each of the laboratories. The project requires that we distribute assay protocols and samples to be tested in an effort to compare the results and standardize the procedures from sample processing to data analysis. We expect to use the Windows version of the Biotrue CDMS to share flow cytometry data with collaborators on this grant around the country."
The availability of Biotrue CDMS for Windows Server 2003 port will allow customers to:
- install the CDMS in 'Windows-only backroom environments
- receive internal support from Windows-dedicated IT personnel, and
- allow smoother integration of the CDMS into IT environments with a pre-existing Windows-based backup system.
