New Fact-Based Community Forms in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Teachers, scientists, freethinkers, civil libertarians, skeptics & humanists are forming a Center for Inquiry extension to serve Broward and Palm Beach Counties.
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) April 24, 2005 -- What ties Broward/Palm Beach teachers, humanists, researchers and doctors together? The new center of the worldwide educational organization, Center for Inquiry. The non-profit CFI is the umbrella for academics, humanists, and skeptics united in promoting science-based critical thinking. Growth of CFI has strongly increased in proportion to attempts to place superstitions and irrationality before science and critical thinking in government, schools, scientific research and public affairs.
Local resident Jeanette Madea, Senior Professor of Chemistry, Broward Community College, is leading the formation of a new center in Fort Lauderdale. CFI, based at State University of New York, Buffalo Campus, with a regional office in Tampa, is opening local communities in Florida for several reasons: socializing, activation and education of like-minded individuals; providing a forum for the free public exchange of ideas; promoting effective reality-based education; supporting Constitutional liberties and civil rights for all Americans.
