Latest Version of GigaTrust Client Software Introduces New Technology
for Corporate-Wide Content Protection
GigaTrust launched new software to protect any type of file using a Windows Rights Management Services (RMS) envelope. Using the RMS-protected envelope, corporations can protect additional file formats.
Herndon, VA (PRWEB) April 25, 2005 -- GigaTrust, a leading provider of content protection solutions based on Microsoft Windows® Rights Management Services (RMS) technology, today announced the availability of new technology designed to enable companies to implement stronger corporate-wide content protection programs. The latest release of the GigaTrust Client Software gives corporations the ability to protect several additional types of file formats that until this time could not be protected. Additionally, the GigaTrust software release leverages several RMS Service Pack 1 (SP1) features.
GigaTrust developed its solution to accommodate customer requests to protect WordPerfect files, DICOM files, media files, Corel files, Visio files, and other vertically focused content. The GigaTrust software works by wrapping sensitive content in a RMS-protected envelope that can only be opened by an authorized recipient. By extending Microsofts solution to include any file type, companies can implement a more comprehensive content protection program.
The GigaTrust Client Software takes advantage of several RMS Service Pack 1 (SP1) enhancements to accommodate customers in high security or isolated operational environments. The new RMS SP1 enhancements enable customers to install GigaTrust on networks that are not directly connected to the Internet, and take advantage of a streamlined installation and authentication process.
"Companies looking to enforce privacy policies and comply with regulations need to protect all content, not just specific types of attachments and files," according to Tom Ebert, Vice President of Sales for GigaTrust. "Support for the additional file types along with new Windows RMS SP1 enhancements provide a complete RMS offering that customers need."
GigaTrust can place any type of file into a RMS-protected envelope. GigaTrust automatically determines which protection policies can be applied to each particular document type. For example, GigaTrust can enforce copy/paste functionality on most document files, but only enforce save as functionality with audio and video files. The RMS-protected envelope safely transports information to its destination without the hassles of implementing a separate protected email solution.
All the latest features, including the rights enabled envelope, are available in the latest client release on the company web site (www.GigaTrust.com). Both new and existing customers should download the latest software to take advantage of the latest GigaTrust features and benefit from the Windows RMS SP1 features. Enterprises looking to use rights management to enforce information policies, or comply with government regulations should contact sales@gigatrust.com for pricing and details.
