Seattle based troubadour Ian Moore will perform a solo acoustic show on Friday May 13 at MacHenryÂ?s in Fort Worth.

Texas native Ian Moore first made a name for himself in Austin's vibrant roots-rock scene in the early 90s, gaining national attention for his self-titled debut on Capricorn Records. His next release, Modern day Folklore, was recorded with Mark Howard in Daniel Lanois’ studio. On Modern day Folklore, Moore asserted his growing sensibilities as a singer-songwriter; the album was subsequently chosen as one of the best moments in contemporary art in 1996 by Dave Hickey in Art America magazine.

His latest release Luminaria received 4 stars from the Austin Chronicle in October of 2004.

“Luminaria showcases selected cuts from last year's Live From the Cactus DVD, but the recorded versions here come from various contexts, and this unhurried pace permits songs to unfold like a well-written play. The key to the musical arts, kids, isn't volume or speed, it's tension, And how to ride it. Energy, subtlety, and touring veteran Moore is a master of his trade.”

“We are very excited to feature Ian Moore at MacHenry’s.” says MacHenry’s owner, singer songwriter John Walker, “The intimate surroundings at MacHenry’s set the perfect stage for a rare solo performance by Moore.”
