Word Slinger Rounds-up the Ethnic Old West
San Fernando Valley author writes "western/frontier" genre' fiction that encompasses the wide scope of ethnic characters who developed the early west and were the true make-up of the American Cowboy and the Frontier Women.
(PRWEB) April 27, 2005 -- The American Cowboy was and is a multi-ethnic individual. The "Cowboy" era of American History is just a short period of time between the Civil War and the turn of the Twentieth Century. A time of life in the raw, where only the strong willed individual was able to survive the many challenges of the early west. Too many of the books and movies based on this period of time have lost the true ethnic flavor and gender roles of this time of our history.
Two western novels by Walt Lange, "Trawlaine" and "Trawlaine's Land" are scheduled for publication release in June 2005 from two different publishers, Publish America (www.publishamerica.com) and Apogee Publishing of Carrolltown, Pa. (www.apogeepublishing.com) These are the beginning of the travels across the rich history of the American West by the fictional Trawlaine Family; their interplay with peoples of all heritages from African Americans to the Original Mexicans of the Southwest and the Native American.
Walt Lange retired from what had been a life long series of occupations, to become a caregiver for an aged parent and has used this time to become a freelance writer, editorialist, and now novelist. His love of the "Old West" has brought him to writing novels about the early men and women of the frontier and the west set against the background of many of the events that shaped the rich history of this land. His primary goal in writing in this genre' is to portray the true ethnic make-up of the inhabitants of the time as well as good entertaining reading that ALL can read.
Review of "Trawlaine's Land" by S. Joan Popek, Publisher of the Popper Gazette, novelist and editor: "This is more than a story about the Old West. It is more than a story about how a man reshapes his life. It is more than a story about "How the West was Won". It is a story about love, hope, and perseverance that made America whole again after the great division of the Civil War. It is a story about the brave men and women who built the West, helped to heal the nation and left the legacy that is ours today."
T.P. James, Author of "Last Time I saw Buddy" and "Benediction of a Madman": "Walt Lange's books read like tales of Zane Grey and his ability to 'word paint' shows his talent."
