Haverhill, MA (PRWEB) April 27, 2005 -- Fans of classical music now have a new podcast available to hear discussions on their art.
"Music Perspectives," a 20-minute podcasted talk show, launched its first podcast on April 24. The premiere show features a conversation on the life and music of Australian-born composer Percy Grainger.
Listeners can download the podcast as an .mp3 file, or listen through their web browsers by going to www.musicperspectives.com
During the podcast, show host Ed Justen discusses many aspects of Grainger's personal and musical lives, with Dr. Mark Aldrich, a music professor at Salem State College, in Salem, MA.
"I felt the life and music of Percy Grainger would be an excellent topic for the first show," Justen says. "Dr. Aldrich does an excellent job explaining the many influences behind his compositions."
Podcasting is a new media form that provides web-based custom "radio" shows available for listening through a web browser, or downloading into a digital music player for listening at one's leisure. Shows can be "subscribed" to (free of charge) through the use of aggregator freeware software that is readily available on the World Wide Web.
