New Tool Helps Small Businesses to Compete with Large Corporations on the Web

Whether a business is operating from the garage or Madison Avenue - search engines make no difference in the search results. Unfortunately, most small businesses do not posses the skills to obtain high search engine rankings for their web sites. A new software tool tries to help small business owners to succeed in the search engines.

(PRWEB) April 28, 2005 -- 28 April 2005 - In theory, search engines have created a level playing field upon which small businesses can compete on equal footing with large corporations. Whether a business is operating from the garage or Madison Avenue - search engines make no difference in the search results and potential customers can find both on the same page.

In practice, most small businesses do not posses the skills to obtain high search engine rankings for their web sites. For this reason, many potential customers cannot find these web sites, and small business owners lose significant sales and revenue (consumers spent US$199 billion online in 2004 according to ComScore surveys).

High search engine rankings can greatly increase the revenue of small business owners because 80% of all Internet users find new web sites through search engines (source: Georgia Tech/GVU Users Survey). In addition, most online shoppers do not care about the company size when shopping online (source: TNS).

The Windows software program Internet Business Promoter (IBP) tries to help small business owners to get high search engine rankings. The latest version IBP 8 is tailored to the needs of small businesses.

It covers all aspects of search engine promotion, from preparing the web site for the search engines, submitting to the search engines, to verifying the search engine rankings. A built-in scheduler automates time-consuming and tedious tasks saving small business owners valuable time.

IBP is successfully used by more than 10,000 small businesses in 65 countries. A free trial version of the software and further information is available on the company web site: http://www.Axandra.com/ibp
