Glideascope, in association with the National Club Industry Association of America (NCIAA) and the MusicDish Network is offering unsigned and independent artists the opportunity to remix the downtempo track ÂBig Big Disgrace - as featured on the official Miami Winter Music Conference 2005 Compilation CD. The winning entrant will have the opportunity to see their remix feature on the upcoming album entitled ÂAudio CinematographyÂ, set for release this summer. A panel will judge the competition based on the following criteria:- dance floor appeal and originality.
"As an artist who appreciates how difficult it is to get your 'voice' heard within the music industry, Glideascope would like to grant independent producers, musicians, DJÂs and Artists the chance to feature on his next release. said Darryl Edwards, director, Akara Music. ÂWith this competition Glideascope hopes to raise the profile of unsigned artists.Â
In addition to this opportunity, the winner will also receive over $1200 dollars in music software from IK Multimedia, a yearÂs supply of promo releases from Dark Ghost Records and the chance to submit their work for signing consideration. Second place winner will receive music software to the value of $700 and third place winner will receive $399 of music software. All finalists will have their remixes promoted and distributed through a MusicDish Network marketing campaign.
Every participant in the competition will receive a free NCIAA DJ or Artist Membership, a 6 month free membership to OnlineGigs.com and a 10 per cent discount on any purchase from Dropshop Records. Two lucky participants will also receive one of two sample libraries valued at $99 drawn at random by IK Multimedia.
The competition commences 20 April 2005 and finishes seven weeks later, on 6 June 2005. The winners will be announced on 4 July 2005. Glideascope encourages all those who create and remix music to participate in this competition. Participants are able to register, download, and submit as many remixes as they wish online.
