Paulette shares ten tips here:
1. Work hard to keep your life in balance.
Don't let work encroach on your family and personal time. This may be easier said than done, but one way is to set specific office hours and refuse to answer the phone outside
of those hours.
2. Find a way to repackage your information.
When you have a signature product, you can expand that product line to incorporate many other products in a variety of price ranges. It's important to have entry-level (lower
priced) products to get customers into the funnel.
3. Watch for opportunities and new ideas everywhere you go.
There are always new ways to present information. Can you create a free viral ebook people will be willing to forward and pass along? Would an audio product interest your
customers?
4. Consider what's the worst that can happen?
When you make a cold call or contact someone to buy from you, the worst that can happen is they will say, "No." It's important to pick up the phone and send those direct mail letters. Without action on your part, customers will
not flock to you to buy.
5. Watch your mail.
Magazines, newspapers and direct mail that comes to you can give you very clear direction for what people are interested in. You can find potential clients, joint-venture partners,
and loads of opportunities by paying attention.
6. Protect your non-work time.
Keep life in balance. Without rest time, you won't have much to offer your clients and customers. Take a break and rejuvenate.
7. Look for a need (and want) in the marketplace before you create products. If people aren't asking for something, there may be no need or desire for the product you are considering. Do your research. Is there really a need for it? Will people buy it?
8. Creating products for a variety of learning styles is vital to your business growth. Everyone learns in different ways. Develop your products so all learners can benefit. That means you should not only create a printed product, but an audio CD, a DVD, downloadable text version and others. Consider lengthening or shortening your product to create tips booklets, in-depth manuals, workshops, and seminars.
9. Modify one thing at a time and evaluate how it works.
If you try to change everything at once, you will surely become overwhelmed. Just do one thing at a time. When you finish, it's time to move on to the next change. You'll have it all done and working in a short time that way. Otherwise, you may never complete anything.
10. Work with others to spread the word.
If you find someone to co-market (joint venture) with, you can expand your network and gain notoriety. More people will be exposed to you and your products. Work for a win-win-win
arrangement -- that is, it's good for you, for the joint-venture partner, and for the customer. You'll be remembered and others will want to work with you and buy from you.
