Hen and Barley Press to Launch Spectator Collection at 2005 National Stationery Show

hen and barley press, a company that provides note cards, invitations, photo cards and gift cards featuring classic designs with a modern twist, will launch its new Spectator Collection at the 2005 National Stationery Show.

Whitefish Bay, WI (PRWEB) April 30, 2005 -- hen and barley began selling its line via the Internet and private shows in 2002. Jennifer Morgan, hen and barleys owner and designer, says that the lines classic with a modern twist" aesthetic was inspired by vintage things she loves, including linens and fabrics, but is infused with a simplicity that todays consumers appreciate. The Spectator Collection is a set of 8 thank you cards and envelopes, featuring 2 each of 4 different bold black and white designs. The designs were inspired by black and white spectator pumps, as well as the movie My Fair Lady," which provided inspiration for the names of each design: flower shop", dover", ascot" and lady".

Hen and barley press expanded into retail stores in 2004, which enabled the company to reach new markets and offer customers the ability to purchase products in a variety of ways: some retailers offer personalization of the lines cards and invitations, which are laser and ink jet compatible, while others will offer blank and fill-in versions only. After making its debut at the National Stationery Show in May 2004, the line is now available in upscale stores such as The Papery of Greenwich in Connecticut, as well as boutiques in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Hampshire, New York, Tennessee, Texas, Utah & Wisconsin. Sandra K. Cohen, Ltd represents the line in Manhattan and Westchester and Fairfield Counties, and Todd Rodgers represents the line in the state of Georgia.

Jennifer Morgan is confident about the appeal of the Spectator Collection in the current marketplace, saying, A pre-greeted thank you note is an easy way for busy consumers to maintain social graces, and by marrying that concept with bold colors and vibrant designs, the customer gets a note she is pleased to send and the recipient is thrilled to receive."

hen and barley will be exhibiting in Booth # 5208, Take Note North Pavilion, at the 2005 National Stationery Show from May 15-18. There the company will introduce many new designs for 2005. In response to requests from retailers, hen and barley has added a line of self-adhesive labels, and expanded its popular cameo collection" of note cards, gift cards, and bookplates. All designs are offered packaged or bulk.
