2nd Annual European Semantic Web Conference (ESWC) Features Four Days of Innovative Technologies

The latest results in research and applications of Semantic Web Technologies will be showcased at this years European Semantic Web Conference from May 29- June 1, 2005 in Crete, Greece.

(PRWEB) May 3, 2005 -- The latest results in research and applications of Semantic Web Technologies will be showcased at this years European Semantic Web Conference from May 29- June 1, 2005 in Crete, Greece. International researchers, business leaders, academics and students, will take part in a variety of lectures, workshops, tutorials, demonstrations and posters sessions that focus on ground breaking research on areas such as Knowledge Markup Languages, Semantic Web Services and Ontology Management.

New to the conference this year are a variety of workshops aimed at hands on approaches to the Semantic Web and a full day Industry Forum consisting of 10 invited speakers from key industrial leaders in diverse economical sectors. The goal of this forum is to maximize cross-fertilization between research and industry.

ESWC 2005 is hosted by SDK, a group of three European Commission 6th Framework Programme projects known as SEKT, DIP and Knowledge Web.
SEKT, DIP and Knowledge Web are multi year integrated projects with a total budget of over €36M. They began on January 1, 2004. SEKT is coordinated by British Telecom Plc., UK. DIP and Knowledge Web are collectively coordinated by the recently created Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI), which is based at the National University of Ireland, Galway and the University of Innsbruck, Austria.
