Art Ferguson. 4 Time Bassmaster Classic Qualifier Talks to Anglers Radio
Art Ferguson, 4 time Bassmaster Classic qualifier, talks with Steve vonBrandt, host of Anglers Radio about tactics and techniques, and the future of bass fishing.
(PRWEB) May 1, 2005 -- Art Ferguson is no starnger to the winners circle. He has been fishing for bass since he could hold a rod, and has placed at the top of the leader board in both the B.A.S.S. and the FLW tour.
He has come a long way since his early days of competitive fishing, and he talks about his techniques, philosophy, and tactics that qualified him for 4 Bassmaster Classic appearances.
Art was born and raised in Rochester, Michigan. He now resides in
St. Clair Shores, Michigan where he owns Art Of Fishing Guide Service.
He has been a full time fisherman since 1990, when he quit his full time plumbing apprenticeship for an opportunity to start fishing the Bassmaster Tournament Trail, after qualifying for the 1990 "Bassmasters Classic"" through the B.A.S.S. Federation ranks.
He was offered an opportunity to start working out of Roland Martin's Marina on Lake Okeechobee in Clewiston, Florida that winter and has been guiding during the winter months
out of that marina since 1991.
He never thought hed become a full time bass fishing guide, until reality hit and he went broke trying to fish the trail. He qualified for 1991-92 Top 100 trail and didnt fair so well.
He now guides on Lake St. Clair during the Summer/Fall months, and Lake Okeechobee during the Winter/Spring.
He truly enjoys it and has had the pleasure of fishing with some great people!
After a vigourous season fishing the 1998-99 Kmart Bassmaster Top 150 circuit, traveling over 20,000 miles in 10 weeks, he qualified for the 1999 "Bassmaster's Classic".
Again in the 1999-2000 season he qualified for the 2000 "Bassmasters Classic", ranking 4th in points. He also had his first Bassmaster's Top 150 victory in May at Wheeler Lake, Decatur, AL.
Then, in 2003, he did it again, requalifying for the 2004 Bassmaster's Classic which was held on Lake Wylie near Charlotte, NC. He qualified through the Bassmaster Northern Opens where he was blessed with another victory on Oneida Lake near Syracuse, NY. Also, during the 3 tournament season he had a 2nd and a 4th place finish. This gave him the Northern Open points leader title. He is very thankful for that accomplishment in his life.
On February 16, 1999, he dedicated his life to Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior and has seen his life completely change for the better.
You can hear Art talk about all these subjects and more on Anglers Radio with host Steve vonBrandt on his show "Beyond Bass Basics" at www.anglersradio.com.
