Joel Pace, one of the nations premiere booking agents for standup comedians, will join an elite panel of judges for The WorldÂs Greatest Unknown Comedian competition produced by HollywoodÂs Master Storytellers Entertainment. According to Nadine C. Hamden of HMS Entertainment, ÂPace and Heffron Talent International have agreed to take the winner of The WorldÂs Greatest Unknown Comedian and book them in comedy clubs. Pace is the Head Booking Agent and Director of New Venue Development for Heffron Talent International, one of the largest talent agencies in the world dedicated to comedians and comedy events. ÂJoel and his team book over 2,000 comics around the country. In addition to prize money and notoriety this is an incredible break for the winner, adds Hamdan.
The WorldÂs Greatest Unknown Comedian is an international talent search hosted online by FilmStew.com. Although the competition doesnÂt formally launch until May, it has already drawn over a million hits on FilmStew.com and hundreds of entries according to Hamdan.
Heffron Talent International operates ÂThe Comedy Zone, the largest comedy club network in America with affiliates in over thirty cities in the United States and the Caribbean. The Comedy Zone brings nationally performing comedians to a network of clubs and corporate events all over the country, entertaining hundreds of thousands of people annually. ÂWe are always on the lookout for new talent, so we were very excited about getting involved in The WorldÂs Greatest Unknown Comedian competition, Pace explains. ÂOur biggest challenge is just to make sure we put the best entertainers on our stages and based on what IÂve seen so far, this competition will generate a fabulous great talent pool.Â
Joel Pace will be joining a stellar JudgeÂs Panel, which includes stand-up star Bobby Collins, actor-comedian Taylor Negron, National Lampoon Radio chairman, Kent Emmons, and ÂEÂ Entertainment executive, Donna Scavella.
ÂThe WorldÂs Greatest Unknown Comedian is open to anyone over 18 years of age: housewives, college kids, doctor, lawyer, Indian Chief, po-dunk nobody; if youÂre funny, get your face and shtick on a tape and enter! As part of the judging process, the public can vote for their favorite contestants online at FilmStew.com, says Hamdan. ÂItÂs an unbelievable opportunity for someone to be discovered, win money, get work, and get major exposure in the comedy business.Â
