Stephen Castor has sold autobiographical screenplay for an undisclosed amount. Industry insiders say it is a seven figure deal, with an incentive laden back end.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 6, 2005 -- After eight months of negotiations, Stephen Castor has sold his autobiographical screenplay for an undisclosed amount of money. Industry insiders believe Castor signed an estimated seven figure deal, with an incentive laden back end. According to Stephen, the financial terms were the easiest part of the negotiations. When someone wants to put your life up on the silver screen, money is not the driving factor, but rather control". I was not comfortable giving up the creative control for any amount of money.
Castor, a two time Olympic athlete who competed in both summer and winter games. First as a boxer and then as a bobsleigher. Who went on to win a World Title in the Ring. At what seemed to be the prime of his career, he decided to gave up athletics for academics He married, had 3 children and became a Sports Medicine Physician. Castor felt no matter how hard he tried, he could not get the "athlete" out of his system. Treating athletes was satisfying though not exciting. The more he treated athletes, the more he missed the excitement of being an athlete. Though a twist of events he opened up a sports management company and began managing athletes, and for a time balanced both a medical practice and sports management company. He eventually gave up a lucrative medical practice in order to manage world class athletes.
When asked who he would like see cast to portray his character, Castor said, he had several actors in mind. He says he does not want the movie to be the Stephen Castor story", but rather a movie based on my life experiences. Thus there are at least a dozen actors in Hollywood who would be terrific in the role. I personally would like to see Leo or Jamie Foxx portray my character".
