Data Domain today announced that Paramit Corp. has deployed Data Domain DD200 Restorer recovery appliances and Replicator software to manage the backup and recovery of its mission-critical data. The Data Domain disk-based solution has enabled Paramit, a provider of specialized electronic manufacturing services, to eliminate its day-to-day tape backups -- and replicate data inexpensively over the WAN.

Paramit is using the Data Domain appliances to back up ERP data, home directories, and a Microsoft Exchange data store, reducing backup and restore windows by up to 75%, and dramatically reducing costs. In addition, Data Domain Replicator software and Global Compression technology are enabling Paramit to replicate data to a remote site using minimal network bandwidth, significantly reducing the companys reliance on offsite tape vault storage.
