The Jane Doe's In Concert at Swing House, Friday, May 13th, 2005

The Jane Doe's to celebrate debut CD with premiere party concert at Swing House, Friday, May 13th

Hollywood - On Friday, May 13th The Jane Does will take the stage as part of the release of their sultry breakthrough album You Bring the Devil. The event, to be held at Swing House, a private performance space that often plays host to The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Maroon 5, Audioslave, Goo Goo Dolls, Green Day, Macy Gray, and Linkin Park is slated to begin at 9pm.

The groundbreaking album, YOU BRING THE DEVIL, comes on the heels of the groups recent work on the soundtrack of the hit thriller The Jacket, starring Keira Knightley and Adrien Brody in which their stark, haunting lament, Quiet Inside" is featured. The film, much of which takes place within the walls of a psychiatric hospital, proved an especially close subject to Jane Does front man Andy Tubman (second from left) because of his intimate knowledge of life inside psychiatric hospitals. As a former music therapist, working with the severely mentally ill, Tubman has used music to communicate with individuals living at the very edges of the human experience. As a result, the lead singer writes music that reverberates with the kind of rare joy and appreciation of lifes pleasures that stems from having witnessed the darkest parts of the human heart. So taken by Tubmans artistic capabilities, music legend Brian Eno, who composed the score for The Jacket, wove Quiet Inside" into a number of scenes throughout the film, including over the end credits.
Deeply grooved, You Bring the Devil offers up 12 soulful tracks, including Junkie," an ode to mainlining sexual energy that pulses along the thin line that often separates desire and despair. Also featured in the collection is a full band version of Quiet Inside," as well as the movie version as a semi-hidden track. Two additional songs, California" and Rainbows" will be released later this year.

Following an American tour, which included performances at the Sundance Film Festival, an overseas tour is now currently in the works to promote Tubmans solo album Sloe Gin Fizz. In addition, the group is also in talks with Ghost Board, makers of world-class competition skate and snowboards, to produce a special for the Spike channel.

About The Jane Does:
After a stint living in Nashville, which afforded Tubman the opportunity to hone his songwriting skills, he moved to Los Angeles in 2001, where he hooked up with Jane Does percussionist, Brad Colton. One of the first things to attract the ears and eyes of audiences at a Jane Does performance is Coltons eclectic collection of hand drums from around the world, which features a Pandeiro and a Cajon, and which is also flavored with found object instruments created by Colton out of salad bowls, springs, and other everyday items that add intricate layers of sound to the music. With dashes of Sade, Ben Harper, Prince and Jeff Buckley, Tubman and Colton meld flavor and texture to create the spicy hot, highly complicated, yet surprisingly tender stew that is The Jane Does.
