Pacific-Pictures.com Launched by South Pacific Author

The author of Moon Handbooks South Pacific announces the launch of Pacific-Pictures.com, a 23-page collection of 207 travel photos of the Pacific islands.

Vancouver, Canada (PRWEB) May 6, 2005 -- The author of Moon Handbooks South Pacific announces the launch of Pacific-Pictures.com, a 23-page collection of 207 travel photos of the Pacific islands.

All photos in this picture gallery are by David Stanley, who researched and wrote all eight editions of Moon Handbooks South Pacific. He also authored the first three editions of Moon Handbooks Micronesia, plus all editions of Moon's guides to Fiji and Tahiti.

A few of Stanley's photos originally appeared in Moon Handbooks South Pacific, while the rest are published here for the first time. They offer a cross section of the region, with the emphasis on "real island life" rather than the artificial world of tourism. The images are intended to convey the atmosphere of some very special places, and the friendly people who call the Pacific islands home.

Each page of pictures provides an introduction to a specific area, and all photos are fully captioned. Little known destinations like Niue, Tokelau, Tuvalu, and Wallis and Futuna are given equal space with Fiji, Tahiti, Samoa, Easter Island, and the Cook Islands. The site also features a map of the South Pacific, listings of guidebooks, and a selection of travel links. http://www.pacific-pictures.com is now open for visitors.
