A Revolutionary Approach to Columbus Singles Social Dilemma

This Saturday, May 7 from 4-7 PM, the members of Park Place Singles are hosting a big Kentucky Derby Party for Singles in the Columbus area at Fitzgerald's Sports Tavern. Proceeds will benefit the vital local charity, Kids 'n Kamp.

(PRWEB) May 6, 2005 -- This type of party is not new for Park Place Singles, whose members decide on the variety of activities on the monthly 'Events Calendar. The idea for the Kentucky Derby 'Party Down' came from Stacy, a young professional new to Columbus, who thought it would be a great way to meet others, introduce people to the Park Place concept and benefit the community at the same time.

Over 50% of the Heads of Households in America today are Single. They are in their late twenties, busy with professions; they are in their thirties and forties, busy as single parents and they are in their fifties and sixties; reeling from divorce after 20 years of marriage. They are your lawyers, your accountants, your hair stylists and your Maytag repairmen. They are also looking for good options of meeting other quality Singles.

Every once in awhile, something revolutionary comes along that is hard for many to recognize at first glance. This could be because 'new concepts can be hard to grasp or because on 'the surface, it might look similar to other things that have been experienced. With Park Place Singles, all three statements are true.

Park Place is revolutionary in its 'Social Club atmosphere for Singles Only. It is a new way of thinking for many Singles regarding their social life, giving more options of having fun with other quality singles doing the things they already love to do. And on first glance, it can be perceived as a dating service, matchmakers or online dating, which is why Park Places biggest challenge is getting Singles to look long enough to see how it is different; benefits Singles of all age groups, and that it is affordable.

Audra Stewart, a sharp 38 year old single, who is one of the founders, said Over 90% of the Singles who walk through the doors of our offices for an informational interview become members. At Park Place, were not all looking for the same type of relationship, but we are all looking for more fun, relaxed options of meeting and socializing with others. We want to spend our limited free time with other sharp, discriminating Singles who may share our interests -- not looking for them."

Whereas the Kentucky Derby Party is open to the public, other events such as Friday Happy Hours, Euchre, Reds Baseball, ShadowBox, Picnic at the Pops, and Volunteer Community Days are a sampling of the activities 'members only enjoy. Many also take advantage of the 'On-Line Community Forum to get groups together to hear a good band or to have an 'international dinner night outside of the planned events.

At its inception, Park Place Singles was a diamond in the 'rough -- a concept with great potential developed by a few Singles looking for better options of meeting others. As the organization has grown, the members have 'chipped away with their ideas to make it the 'gem it is today... a fun place where friendships are made and great relationships are formed.
