As of May 13, 2005 DigiPie will be marketing a new product to the film and television industry that enables those industries to preview an actors reel online. A participating actor will be able to upload and maintain their reel 24/7. The basic concept deals with the issue of actors getting a return on their investment of time, energy and money in making these reels. The industry can then re-direct dollars spent conducting their calls to the actor by browsing, sampling and then downloading reel segments as needed until they get to the finalists for a part. Only then would the actor be required to physically show up at the audition. In the meantime, the dollars spent downloading the reel segments go directly to the actor and they didnÂt have to deal with traffic and other expenses, including loss of time going to and from each audition.
These new categories will be called, ÂActorÂs Reel and ÂAudition Previews and will be broken down demographically. The marketing effort will include the incentive that the first 1000 actor activations will be free for 1 year. Otherwise, the basic monthly fee is $4.99 per month for a DigiPie activation. Why shouldn't actors be paid for auditioning? Basically, they have invested time, energy and money into making their actor's reel. An opportunity to get some kind of return on that investment should be standard. Just the fact that they won't have to dig into their own pockets so often getting to and from these auditions will be a giant step in itself.
DigiPie is a concept and philosophy of participation and sharing in an economic cycle. Thanks to digital technology even the smallest movement in an economic cycle can be tracked as it affects the whole in Âreal timeÂ. DigiPie records and displays these movements in real time for all participants and concludes a given economic cycle with payouts to all participants based upon their level of participation. DigiPie establishes a virtual bond between buyers and sellers by adding extra value to any economic situation.
