Open Terra, a notable entrant in the explosive enterprise mobility market, has unveiled TeamConnectÂ?, an ambitious next generation business application for mobile collaboration.

At the Mobile Showcase conference today, Open Terra, a notable entrant in the explosive enterprise mobility market, has unveiled TeamConnect™, an ambitious next generation business application for mobile collaboration. With this application, employees will have instant access to the status, whereabouts, and availability of their co-workers – known as presence technology – through their mobile devices. The application also provides the ability to send each other alerts and urgent messages, within a graphically rich and dramatically simple user interface and utilizing the highest level of security and AES encryption. While in the field, employees can update their status and view their teammate’s availability anytime and anywhere. Also included with the TeamConnect service is a Web interface that provides a dashboard, especially crucial for receptionists, dispatchers, and managers, whom will have immediate visibility into their co-workers’ whereabouts and their availability, and the ability to push “While You Were Out” messages and critical alerts, wherever their co-workers may be.

“TeamConnect is an impressive undertaking and shows Open Terra's breadth of understanding for enterprise mobile applications." said J. Gerry Purdy, Ph.D. principal analyst for MobileTrax, a leading market research and analysis firm in the mobile and wireless space.

"We commend Open Terra for tackling a difficult problem that could become an important application used by enterprises. It’s guys like these who could develop the killer app of enterprise wireless."

David Sasson, CEO and Founder of Open Terra, adds, “TeamConnect solves many problems that organizations have with lost productivity. With the TeamConnect service, employees that traditionally have called the office to have a co-worker tracked down, only to find out minutes later that they are not at their desk, is a thing of the past. The ability for a receptionist or dispatcher to have a centralized view of the comings and goings of their fellow co-workers, as well as the ability to update a co-worker’s status availability, and push ‘While You Were Out’ messages and priority alerts to the workforce will dramatically improve productivity. TeamConnect provides a more social, interactive team environment throughout a distributed organization.”

To facilitate exponential growth of user base for this innovative new product, Open Terra will also be launching a noteworthy viral marketing campaign for TeamConnect, which will include a multi-level bounty offering. Existing TeamConnect users who refer other companies for TeamConnect service will be rewarded with cash incentives, with cascading fees for referrals of referrals. Moses Ma, a Board director at Open Terra and managing partner at Next Generation Ventures, adds, “The addition of a network marketing revenue model is a first for enterprise software sales. Done right, this could be the Amway of the Internet. The company is betting that the viral effect will be significant, because if you’re the first to refer TeamConnect into major Fortune 500 accounts… the accumulated bounties could be pretty substantial. Think of it as social networking with money.”

TeamConnect will initially be available on Java enabled mobile devices. For information, please visit Open Terra at
