Bahamian Writer Launches First Novel
This release announces the launch of the stunning debut novel, "When Worlds Collide", written by Bahamian attorney-turned-novelist, Shawn A. Forbes. Aimed at adult audience, the story follows the trials of three friends who, through the affirmation and understanding forged from their friendship, overcome a number of emotional and physical hurdles.
(PRWEB) May 10, 2005 -- On Friday 29th April, 2005, aficionados of the Bahamian literary scene converged on the Governors Ballroom of the British Colonial Hilton Hotel to help fledgling Bahamian writer Shawn Forbes launch his debut novel, When Worlds Collide". Published by the Canadian company, Trafford Publishing, the fictional novel tells the poignant story of three individuals from disparate backgrounds, who find understanding, acceptance and healing through their unlikely friendship. At times funny and at others, heart-wrenching, the book explores a number of topics that are of relevance to all societies. My intention was to tell a story that was not merely a Bahamian, Canadian or an English one, although the principal characters come from those cultures," says Forbes. My intention was to tell a human story. I hope my readers will find that Ive accomplished that."
Although the book is not yet available at local bookstores, prospective readers may purchase it through the publishers website at www.trafford.com, or by contacting Mr. Forbes directly at thewriter@coralwave.com or through his website at www.shawnforbes.com. It is also available through www.amazon.com and www.bn.com," says Forbes, but I really hope that local bookstores will stock it so as to make it more accessible to the general public."
Although he is quick to say that writing can be a lonely and often frustrating venture, he has no intention of stopping at one. He has mapped out a plan for his second novel and is already thinking about the third.
