Z100 midday air personality Shelley Wade returned for the third year to emcee the opening ceremonies of the eighth annual Revlon Run/Walk for Women Saturday at the Times Square start line.

Wade kicked off the event by hosting the opening ceremonies. She was joined by Revlon spokeswoman Julianne Moore, Yankees chief Joe Torre, In Good Company star Topher Grace and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay. This year Z100 also had a Shelley Wade Run/Walk Team with Wade leading a team of her listeners along the course. Among the largest 5K events in the nation, the Revlon Run/Walks in New York and Los Angeles have raised approximately $32 million to fight women’s cancers since their inception in L.A. in 1993.

Wade’s cheerful demeanor is a breath of fresh air for New York radio which has her connecting with listeners. Her show, ranked #1 with women in the coveted 18-24 demographic in the just-released Arbitron Winter ratings, airs from Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 100.3 FM. At lunchtime she plays the day’s most requested songs in the High Noon Countdown. Throughout her career she’s interviewed top music and entertainment personalities, including Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Maxwell, Quincy Jones, Santana, Celine Dion, Will Smith, Dave Matthews, Run-DMC, Quentin Tarantino, LL Cool J, Samuel L. Jackson, the Isley Brothers, Aaliyah, Spike Lee and Mariah Carey.
