D. J. Cotrona Plays Wise-Cracking Lucas Mitchell in Alpine Pictures Love is the Drug

Alpine Pictures, Inc. in association with Box Office Productions, LLC welcomes D.J. Cotrona to the cast of Love Is the Drug, which is being filmed in Los Angeles, and co-stars Daryl Hannah, Lizzy Caplan, Jenny Wade, Jonathon Trent and John Patrick Amedori.

Burbank, CA (PRWEB) May 11, 2005 -- D.J. (Donald Joseph) Cotrona grew up in Connecticut where he studied pre-law at Boston College. During a break from his studies D.J. came to visit a family friend in Los Angeles and decided to put college on hold to move to Hollywood and pursue an acting career. His impulsiveness paid off when he was almost immediately chosen to play Adam Roam, in Jerry Bruckheimers Fox drama 'Skin, with Olivia Wilde ('The OC and The Girl Next Door) Ron Silver ('The West Wing, 'Chicago Hope) and Kevin Anderson ('Power and Beauty, Hoffa). Cotrona will soon be seen in Backwater with Bijou Phillips (Havoc, Almost Famous) and is expected to sizzle on the screen as popular jock Lucas Mitchell. Executive Producer Neil Kaufman remarked, D.J. adds depth and charm to Lucas to balance his sharp tongue" and continued He is a young talent with a long future ahead of him and we are fortunate to be working with him." D.J. has also guest-starred on NBC's hit series, 'LAW AND ORDER: Special Victims Unit.

Love Is the Drug which began filming in Southern California on April 25th, was written by Wesley Strick (Arachnophobia, Cape Fear, The Glass House) and is being directed by up and comer Elliot Lester. Casting Directors Anne McCarthy and Jay Scully of Engine helped negotiate the terms of Cotronas contract with his agent, Andrew Wietz of Endeavor, and Alpine Pictures, Inc.

Alpine Pictures, Inc. is a 10 year-old independent film production and distribution company located in Burbank, CA. In addition to Love Is the Drug, Alpine has just signed a five-picture deal with Resolution Independent of Australia and has the horror film Vampire Bachelor Party, along with several other films, currently in development. The company hopes that these efforts will help make way for it to enter the public arena this year.
