Texas Hold 'em Poker Tournament at Santa Anita Park (So. California) to Benefit Local Athletes of Special Olympics
Special Olympics will conduct a charity fundriaising Tournament on Saturday, May 14th from 7:00 - 11:30.
Arcadia, CA (PRWEB) May 11, 2005 -- Mark your calendars, and bring your friends. Prepare for a night of excitement while supporting one of the premiere charities of the San Gabriel Valley.
On Saturday, May 14th, Special Olympics will conduct a charity fundraising Tournament at the Turf Club of Santa Anita Park. The event will be from 7:00 -- 11:30.
Dealers will be trained by World Poker Tour, a sponsor for the event. Training will be conducted for novice players, yet there is healthy competition for experienced tournament players.
On behalf of the athletes we serve, everyone is pleased to participate in such a worthwhile and fun event.," says Dal Jones, Director of Special Events for Santa Anita Park. This is our first time to partner with Special Olympics at our beautiful venue." The Park hopes to raise funds for local sports programming for local Special Olympics athletes.
The evenings enjoyment will include a no-host bar, buffet dinner, music, silent auction, and competitive poker play. A message of inspiration will be provided by a Special Olympics athlete who lives in the San Gabriel Valley.
Tickets for the Texas Hold 'em Poker Tournament are $50 per person, including chips for play. Table sales and sponsorships are also available. All the monies raised during the event stay in the Valley. Since there is no cost for an athlete to participate, all proceeds will go toward equipment needs, facility usage, meals, transportation, and awards needed for the entire year.
