Cooperation Between Atrium Software and Norman Data Defense Systems
The vendor for Internet messaging solutions atrium software international and the anti virus specialist Norman Data Defense Systems have renewed their partnership and cooperation for professional security solutions.
(PRWEB) May 13, 2005 -- Atrium Software has enhanced its well known products MERCUR Messaging 2005 and CAMELOT Security 2005 with a new interface to Norman Virus Control. This includes also the SandBox technology, developed by Norman. Norman SandBox is a unique proactive antivirus technology that is able to detect new and unknown viruses. The analysis of the relevant files takes place inside a simulated operating system that is completely separated from the regular computer and network environment.
The integration of Norman Virus Control into MERCUR Messaging 2005 improves the safety aspect for email transaction considerably. All received messages are scanned for viruses before the actual delivery. Infected messages will be separated from the regular email traffic in this way.
CAMELOT Security 2005 is a server based anti spam solution, working like a gateway for SMTP servers. Incoming messages run through a chain of different application layers inside a multi-tier protection system. Several methods of analysis are executed by active content processors, using artificial intelligence with self-learning filter processes. The Norman Virus Control interface detects viruses also at an early stage and moves infected messages to special quarantine areas.
In opposition to client based anti spam solutions, CAMELOT works at a centralized level. This protects the rest of the network from dangerous contents. Explicit boundaries between secure and insecure areas are set in this way.
