Copa Coca-Cola 2005 Comes to Massachusetts: Areas Best Teen Athletes to Compete in the Most Exciting Hispanic Youth Soccer Festival in the Country

Some of Massachusettss most outstanding teen athletes will show off their fancy footwork and athletic prowess when the Copa Coca-Cola, an international soccer tournament, takes place May 21-22 at Ghiloni Park in Marlborough, MA.

(PRWEB) May 13, 2005 -- Some of Massachusettss most outstanding teen athletes will show off their fancy footwork and athletic prowess when the Copa Coca-Cola, an international soccer tournament, takes place May 21-22 at Ghiloni Park in Marlborough, MA. The Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of New England and Coca-Cola Enterprises, New England Division, will host the Copa Coca-Cola, the most exciting Hispanic youth soccer festival in the country.

Up to 32 boys teams and 16 girls teams made up of outstanding teen athletes, ages 13 -- 15, from local community and school soccer teams and organizations will participate. The winners of Copa Coca-Cola in Marlborough will move on to compete for the prestigious national championship title in Los Angeles in June and possibly for the international title at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL in July.

Copa Coca-Cola provides an opportunity for local Hispanic youth to showcase their athletic skills and talents on community, national and international levels. Further, Copa Coca-Cola is an extension of Coca-Colas commitment to promoting healthy and active lifestyles among youth and their families."

Copa Coca-Cola will be held in nine additional U.S. cities across the country this spring, including: Los Angeles, Houston, San Diego, Dallas, Chicago, New York, Washington D.C., Miami and San Jose. Internationally, the competition will take place in 20 countries.

Coca-Cola created Copa Coca-Cola in Mexico in 1998, establishing tournament play between teenage soccer teams from Mexico and South America. The tournament expanded to the United States in 2001. Since its inception, more than 10,000 teams and 600,000 teens from the Americas and Europe have participated in the tournament. Copa Coca-Cola is one of the only free youth tournaments in the U.S., giving access to kids from organized and unorganized leagues.
