New Website Tells Users about Their Public "Image" from a Single Photo
Visitors to whatsmyimage.com guess personal facts about strangers based only on their photos.
Princeton, N.J. (PRWEB) May 13, 2005 -- It is often said that first impressions are lasting impressions. Do you ever wonder what first impression strangers draw from you? What assumptions do people make about you before they learn the truth?
What's My Image?" is a new website designed to help you find the answer. The site was originally designed as a Computer Science project by four students at Princeton University, but quickly gained popularity as a highly addictive internet destination for college students and adults alike.
At whatsmyimage.com, users upload their photos then have complete strangers make guesses about the details of their private lives. Topics range from marital status to height and weight to sexual experience and beyond. These are facts that no one could possibly determine from a single photo, so the stranger's guess is entirely based on their first impression of the person they see. Users can also upload additional photos to see how their different looks or images" may lead to different first impressions.
While many users enjoy learning about their photos, many more enjoy the other side of the website: voting on others. Anyone who thinks they have a knack for accurately judging people based on first impressions will really enjoy the site," said co-founder and Princeton Junior Robert J. Moore. All of our users are encouraged to visit the site frequently and make guesses about other peoples photos." Users accumulate points when they guess correctly and the most impressive guessers appear in the websites Hall of Fame."
